INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND

Jersey Farm Advice and Information Centre (JEFAIC) was established in 2002 due to violation of human rights – including Domestic violence, women and children’s rights, people living with HIV and AIDS.

VISION
JEFAIC strives for a democratic South Africa, in which human rights and dignity, equality and the rule of law are accessible, respected and upheld where rural communities and in particular vulnerable, discriminated and marginalized groups experience the reality of socio-economic rights through empowerment and sustainable development.

MISSION
As an NPO/CBO dealing with human rights issues, JEFAIC seeks to:

Improve the well being and livelihood of the poor and marginalized groups by enhancing their access to justice and promote and advance their human and socio-economic rights. This work is guided by the principle

ORGANISATION OBJECTIVES

JEFAIC exists to:

  • Promote and protect human rights by raising awareness to rural communities;
  • Provide free access to justice to needy people;
  • Provide support and assistance to women, orphans and vulnerable children.
